This June, we gathered beside the Jersey City Reservoir to share stories and poems inspired by nature and the beautiful wildlife that calls this place home. During our nature walk, we collected small treasures along the way—fallen leaves, seed pods, feathers, and interesting textures that caught our attention—to inspire our artwork. As we listened to one another’s stories, poems the sights and sounds of the reservoir became part of the experience, deepening our appreciation for the natural world. After enjoying a picnic together and reflecting on these shared moments, we created watercolor paintings, using the treasures we gathered and our observations of nature to capture the colors, moods, and memories of a meaningful day outdoors.

On a separate day we introduced the students to the process of creating Cyanotypes.

Sunny or Cloudy days offer the same Joy and opportunities to learn, talk and enjoy one another.
